Happy Holidays

Hi All,

I find my Grandmother was absolutely correct when she said the older you get, the faster time flies!  Somehow the summer flew by even with some relatively hot lazy days in Oxford on the Eastern Shore, spent mostly in my kayak, on my bike or enjoying a good book. And here it past Thanksgiving, with Christmas on the horizon. I am ever grateful to my asana and meditation practice for keeping it all in perspective. And I am ever grateful for all my teachers, which include all my students, friends, and family. (Especially my family, often my best and most challenging teachers!)

Betsey Downing and I had a total love and wisdom filled blast with 27 Spirited Women at Xinalani Retreat Center on the west coast of Mexico in October. Sixteen of our incredible participants were in their 60’s and we all decided we were only getting better with age, like a fine wine. Next year we will be going to Amansala Eco-Chic Resort on the east coast of Mexico near Tulum.  The dates are November 9-16, 2013 and I will begin creating the brochure soon. You can check the resort out at www.amansalaresort.com

Moses and I are gearing up for our 9th Yoga Vacation in Jamaica on the cliffs of Negril in February. The dates are February 9-16, 2013. It is one of the most light-hearted yoga vacations of the year, and we welcome anyone with six months experience in Yoga. If you register by December 8 with one payment, you can save $75. (We’ve extended the Early Bird Special by one week due to the holidays). We expect a full house again, and airfare is quite decent right now, so don’t linger too long in getting your registration in.

Joe and Natalie and Maria Hamburger and I recently met to discuss the future plans for Willow Street’s new 200-500 hour Teacher Training Program for 2013, and we are all very excited about it. There will soon be more information on how it will work on the WS website. I will be giving one of the “Electives” or Advanced Modules on The Energy Body the weekend of January 11-13, which would count as part of the Electives needed for the 500 hour certification. You can read the specifics in the Workshops section here.

I’m excited to be doing our first co-led workshop with Betsey Downing at Kripalu Holistic Health Center in Lenox, MA next April 18-21. It is kind of a mini retreat for Spirited Women 45 and over. Betsey and I both find ourselves being drawn to teaching this powerful segment of the population at this point in our lives and careers. There is something quite magical and profound that happens as we age after a strong practice of asana and meditation for many years. We find we have more wisdom, courage, and humor to share than ever before. So be on the lookout for more programs of this nature to be offered. I feel very good, as I know Betsey does, to be moving more in this direction. We want to keep offering asana, as it most definitely helps in keeping our aging bodies younger, but also are looking forward to including more Pranayama, Meditation, and relevant discussions on the Divine Feminine and it’s greater emergence in the world, as well as other pertinent topics.

It is with a grateful heart for the abundance that life offers to all of us that I wish all of you the Happiest and most meaningful of Holidays.

Love and Namaste,  Suzie
